Thank You Barbie!!

Ok about 6 weeks ago my daughter got a Barbie doll from Target with some allowance money she had earned (it was like 5 bucks and it took her FOREVER to decide how to spend it!). When we opened it up it had this Barbie Pink Ticket thingie inside of it. I had no idea what it was but there was some code on it and Sarah INSISTED we should go online. At the time she had found just a couple of websites she could play on by herself…mostly noggin and playhouse disney…so I thought, ok, lets check it out. So off to Barbie.com we went. Those of you who know me are very aware that I have never played with Barbie, wanted a Barbie or even said the word Barbie until Sarah came along and my world changed! My dad built me a doll house when I was small, and I turned it into a barn! So basically I am getting to try out childhood as a girlie girl, well, vicariously through Sarah! So we put her little code into the Barbie site and {POOF} it said she’d won. I though oh great, now I have to explain to her that Barbie says she’s won and all she gets to do is look at a website…that’s not really “winning” when you’re 4! But it did have somewhere in the fine print that something would arrive in about 6 weeks. Hum, I thought, “Do I say something or will her heart be broken when nothing comes?” But I did say, “In a few weeks maybe Barbie will send you something”…and we went on about our business and Sarah actually never even brought it up again (except once that same evening to tell her Daddy that Barbie was sending her a prize). She has loved playing with Barbie.com ever since, particularly when she gets to do Barbie’s nails, so I thought maybe it was a win all around. Well, low and behold, UPS showed up today with a package I knew wasn’t any of the Christmas toys I had ordered cause it came from somewhere else. But then all was right with the world ’cause Barbie HAD sent her a prize and it was a good one! Check this out:

So I am here to apologize to Barbie for ever doubting her and say a big THANK YOU for making my Sarah’s day!! Barbie Rocks! (I can’t believe I just said that!)
